Our favorite places have a soul
Cities change — and that’s why we love them. But growth does not have to mean loss—loss of identity, and displacement of key community anchors—nor does it mean we have to live in places that feel like anywhere.
The most important parts of a city are rarely the most outwardly legible ones, and are usually the most fragile. The jazz club that has anchored a block for forty years, the corner store owned by the same family for three generations or the couple that just took it over, the building full of artists and entrepreneur studios, the playground that gives young people somewhere to belong.
These places hold the essence of a community's identity. They are also the hardest to fund, because their value is relational and felt rather than easily measured in an individual project ROI. No single developer, city agency, or nonprofit has them as their primary focus, despite the universal acknowledgement of their value. They fall through cracks between sectors, funding categories, and vision to project execution.
hyperplaced was created to close that gap — as a strategic partner, a developer, implementer, and a champion for the places and the people who make communities worth living in.
hyperplaced collaborates with entrepreneurs, artists, community based organizations, innovative developers and city leaders to keep and grow it.
How can we work together?
Hyperplaced brings the strategy, capital, and implementation expertise together to spur community growth while strengthening what makes someplace distinctive, memorable, and grounded in the reality of each place. We know how to structure a deal that keeps authenticity in place, how to turn a community's vision into a fundable project, how to design and build policy and programs to have impact, and how to build momentum that outlasts any single initiative.
strategic advisory
Program and policy design, organizational strategy, real estate advisory, and strategic frameworks and plans for cities, nonprofits, developers, and creative enterprises navigating complex civic, cultural, and commercial challenges. hyperplaced brings senior-level strategic thinking to the questions that don't fit neatly into any single discipline — and the implementation experience to know what will actually work.
project feasibility and implementation
From pre-development feasibility through deal structuring and execution, hyperplaced steps in as a senior strategic partner — embedded in the work not just as an advisor. Whether leading a client's project or advancing hyperplaced's own development initiatives, the focus is always the same: turning vision into reality.
venture studio
The incubator for hyperplaced's and partner's own ideas — ranging from new investment vehicles and program initiatives to product and tool design. Some are early-stage provocations, and some are active partnerships. All are rooted in the same conviction: that the right idea, resourced and structured , can further enhance, protect, and transform the authenticity of place.
Turning ideas into momentum, and momentum into impact, together.
